The Primary Division of Dallas Black Dance Academy is an open-enrollment program, offering classes in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, African, Ballet/Tap combo and Parent and Me. This division is open to all students 2 thru adult, beginners to advance. Primary Division classes promote creativity and discipline while encouraging each child to reach their highest potential. All students age 4-14 are required to take Ballet each year and students 6 years and older are encouraged to take additional classes such as Modern, Jazz, and/or African.

The pre-professional program is designed for the truly dedicated and hardworking students ages 9-18 years. Pre-Pro is geared to equip students with the rigorous training needed to successfully pursue dance at the collegiate and professional level. In addition to their dance curriculum, pre-professional students will also receive lessons in anatomy and dance history. Pre-professional students are required to take each class that is scheduled for their level. Just like academics, repetition and numerous hours of study are needed in order to reach mastery. Pre-Professional students are highly encouraged to enroll in at least one open class as an elective. Invitation is required for this program.

The OPEN dance and fitness classes are full of energy and fun. These classes are designed for those with no prior dance experience and are geared towards adults, teens 16 years and older, and Pre-Professional II – IV students. Registration and monthly tuition is not required for adults. Adults are welcome to participate in the Academy’s drop in program and take advantage of the discounted class card options.
