
ROBERT “RJ” HOOKS
DBDT: ENCORE! DANCER
Robert Hooks II a.k.a. RJ (Brooklyn, New York) started dancing at three years of age under Deborah Barton, Serina Young, and Ming Dunn. He attended Brooklyn Highschool of the Arts and studied under Michelle J. Smith and Ian J. Dasilva. Rj has trained with artists such as Shirley Black Brown Coward, Obediah Wright, Earl Mosley, Thera Ward, Kevin Iega Jeff, and many more.
RJ started performing professionally with Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet. From there he has gone on to dance with 6 o’clock Dance Theatre, TORCH Dance Theatre, and Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company. RJ has performed in notable venues such as Carnegie Hall, Bryant Park, and the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in New York. In his free time, RJ enjoys playing football, basketball, and watching animal documentaries.
