DBDT: ENCORE! DANCER


Lawrence began his dance journey at Kelly’s Dance Academy in New Port Richey, FL at seven years old. He studied multiple genres of dance to include: ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theatre, and tap. At age 11, Lawrence joined Mary Jo’s Performing Arts Academy in Tampa, FL, where he was an active member of the Universal Movement Competition Team and CBT Ballet Company. To date, his repertoire with MJPAA includes Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella and The Nutcracker.

Lawrence, who has autism, was chosen as an Arts4All Florida Young Soloist Dance Performer from 2019 to 2022 and took part in the organization’s 40th anniversary show. Arts4All Florida recognizes artists with disabilities. During their week-long intensive training, Lawrence worked with University of South Florida dancers, professors, and acclaimed international disabled choreographer, Marc Brew.

Lawrence attended summer intensives at Joffrey Ballet School NYC, American Ballet Theatre and Next Generation Ballet. Lawrence is a 2025 graduate from Joffrey Ballet School, where he just completed four years of pre-professional training in Ballet and Jazz/Contemporary. Lawrence was a guest artist with Tuzer Ballet and Ballet Theatre South performing in The Nutcracker. Lawrence has performed works by Katina Kumar for Ballet Papillon in Dallas, TX.
