
Dallas Black Dance Theatre Announces 2008-2009 Season PURE ENERGY

DALLAS - Dallas Black Dance Theatre announces its 2008-2009 season, Pure Energy,
The performing ensemble "Bloom" kicked off the 32nd season August 27 in Kampala, Uganda at the 8th Kwatu Fest, the three-day peace festival. This performance highlights the ensemble's first invitation to perform internationally. During the season, the company will tour Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Arkansas, Colorado, California, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Maryland.

This world-traveled contemporary modern dance company employs 12 multi-ethnic professional dancers performing a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works. Founded in 1976 by Ann Williams, the mission of Dallas Black Dance Theatre is to create and produce contemporary modern dance at its highest level of artistic excellence through performances and educational programs that bridge cultures and reach diverse communities.
