Tickets sales and other earned income account for less than 40% of the revenue Dallas Black Dance Theatre needs to cover its expenses. Supporters like you make up the difference in our operating budget, enabling the dance company to uphold its reputation for excellence.
As a direct result of this support, DBDT's educational and outreach programs will impact over 20,000 Dallas area students this year. Our arts-in-education residencies and outreach programs are designed to build critical thinking skills, connect youth to themselves and their own culture, and to invigorate the educational process by building connections between the construction and execution of dance as an art form and traditional learning techniques.
Friends are at the very core of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre community of supporters. They help Dallas Black Dance Theatre bring truly exceptional dance to audiences around the world.
Through annual gifts of $3,499 and below, Friends of DBDT deepen their connection to the organization by providing critical resources that enable DBDT to provide students with dance training, outreach programs, curriculum based in-school residencies and opportunities to see live professional dance performances.

This 35th Anniversary season, Dallas Black Dance Theatre has established the AVANTE SOCIETY, an elite guild of individual and family donors, to raise annual funds that will move the organization from a regional arts treasure to a permanent institution on the national dance stage. Charter membership in the Avante Society during this special anniversary season will be extended to philanthropists who invest $3,500 or more in Ann M. Williams' vision for Dallas Black Dance Theatre.
