The Dallas Black Dance Theatre Endowment Fund provides sustainable funding for the Company's dance performances, dance training, and education and community outreach programs.
In 2008, DBDT moved into its first permanent home in the former Moorland YMCA building in Dallas' Downtown Arts District. This 32,000 square foot facility houses DBDT's rehearsal studios, training classrooms and administrative offices. The following year, DBDT moved its Dallas home season performances from the historic Majestic Theatre to the newly built Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts.
As a part of its building capital campaign, Dallas Black Dance Theatre created a general operations endowment to support day-to-day operations of the Company including facility maintenance, dance performances and educational services. The endowment fund is managed by the Communities Foundation of Texas and allows donations to have a greater impact over a long period of time.
