The mission of Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT) is to create and produce contemporary modern dance at its highest level of artistic excellence through performances and educational programs that bridge cultures, reach diverse communities and encompass ever-expanding global audiences. As the oldest, continuously operating professional dance company in Dallas, DBDT's key initiatives include professional concert performances, arts-in-education programs, community outreach activities and dance training. In June 2011, DBDT launched its 35th Anniversary Season Excellence Defined. DBDT seeks an intern who is passionate about the arts, thrives in a creative team work environment, and possesses the drive to gain hands-on, real-world experience in the nonprofit arts marketing world.
Current Sophomore, Junior or Senior college student with a marketing, communications, advertising, and/or graphic design background who will be enrolled full-time in the Fall of 2012. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop & InDesign. Strong writing skills, a sense of accountability, an interest in the arts, and the abilities to multi-task and prioritize are essential. Experience with Tessitura Arts Management Software and video editing software is a plus.
